VERMILION  3

The color vermilion continues to preoccupy me. This series on paper begins with a painted vermilion form on which I draw using white transfer paper (like carbon paper, but white), further developing a visual vocabulary, limiting the media while expanding the language. Acrylic and transfer pigment on paper, 2016, 2019.

The work was shown in 2019 as large archival pigment prints, ranging from 5’ x 5’ to 5’ x 22’, at Desai Matta Gallery, San Francisco and at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. See images below. Hover for captions.
