Announcing a limited edition publication of the Museum of Antique Toys of Mexico

Available starting Friday, November 27, 2020

WHAT IS MUJAM? A wildly independent, DIY, earthshakingly original place, run by a radical father-and-son team, both of whom trained as architects in Japan and Mexico. The objects displayed there are just a part of Señor Roberto Shimizu’s collection, numbering over one million toys and objects, amassed over seven decades. Located in a former department store, this is not a white-walled, carefully curated Museum. It’s a joyful explosion.

PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION to support the Museum of Antique Toys of Mexico by purchasing a book: a pre-publication limited edition of 100 signed copies — now available for a contribution of $50 — or more if you are so moved!

FIVE YEARS IN THE MAKING, a new book, "Museum of Antique Toys of Mexico", has been a labor of love on the part of many people who’ve donated time and energy to a project supporting the Museum known as MUJAM.

WITH THE FUNDS WE RAISE, we’ll be printing a large edition be sold at the Museum in Mexico City — generating income for this one-of-a-kind place and attracting sustaining supporters. All proceeds from the limited edition go to supporting the Museum by creating the next edition of books for them.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THIS PLACE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Go there if you possibly can. If you can’t just yet, you’re invited to wander through the Museum and its neighborhood together with us in this book.

See here for more details.

Welcome! And thank you.
